Following tooth preparation, impressions are taken and send to the dental laboratory, where a replica of your mouth is created. You and your dentist will carefully discuss the color, shape and size of the dental crown. A temporary restoration is cemented to protect the prepared tooth.
In the second appointment your dentist removes your temporary crown and tries on the dental crown to verify fit and to obtain your approval for cementation. Once your dentist and you the patient, are satisfied with the result, a luting cement or an adhesive bonding agent is used to permanently cement the crown.
